KBW's Investment Banking Division provides a broad range of investment banking services to depositories, insurance companies, broker-dealers, mortgage banks, asset management companies, REITs, specialty finance firms, and securities exchanges. We offer M&A origination and advisory services, general advisory, debt and equity financings, balance sheet restructuring, and mutual thrift & insurance company conversions. For more than two decades, we have regularly been the top merger & acquisition advisor in our sector. Additionally, we have been a leader in credit union and thrift conversions and raising hybrid capital for banks and insurance companies via pooled structured transactions.
With offices in the United States and Europe, our professionals are positioned to provide clients with locally based services, while keeping in close touch with developments in major financial centers. Additionally, we coordinate with our colleagues globally to originate and execute cross-border transactions.
We are thought leaders in the industry, with a complete perspective of the micro and macro trends that impact investment decisions. With more than 100 seasoned professionals globally, our resources are focused on developing long-term relationships and gathering market intelligence to help clients navigate effectively through the increasingly interrelated global financial markets.
Recently, we have advised banking and insurance companies on acquisitions of failed banks from the FDIC. All of these deals involve valuation advice, bidding, and strategy; most involve evaluation of assets; and some may involve contingent capital raises for the buyer.
In a recent notable transaction, we were involved with Aurora Bank (F.S.B.) as lead advising manager in analyzing, recommending, and executing a series of transactions that has since captured significant cash value for the Lehman Estate. The deal involved lead depository bankers working with our Diversified Financials Group and regulatory advisory team to find the best set of buyers for different Aurora businesses and balance sheet asset & liabilities.
Similarly, our New York Diversified Financials Group worked with our London colleagues to complete Canaccord's recent acquisition of The Collins Stewart Hawkpoint plc.
