Thomas B. Michaud

Thomas (Tom) Michaud has spent the last 25 years at Keefe, Bruyette & Woods. He was named Chief Executive Officer and President of KBW in October 2011, having served as Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer since September 2001.

With Mr. Michaud's leadership, KBW has become one of the top traders of financial services stocks and developed an industry leading research effort. KBW has also emerged as a top manager of small, mid and large cap equity offerings and remains a leading M&A advisor to companies across the financial services industry.

Mr. Michaud is a graduate of Middlebury College and earned an M.B.A. from the Stern School of Business at New York University. He currently serves on the Board of Advisors of the Greenwich, Connecticut chapter of The American Red Cross, is on the Board of Directors for the Foreign Policy Association, a non-profit organization, and serves on the Middlebury College Capital Campaign Committee.

Scott R. Anderson

Managing Director
Co-Head of Depositories Investment Banking

Mr. Anderson has served as Co-Head of KBW's Depository Investment Banking Group since 2010 and is based in the firm's New York headquarters. He is responsible for strategic advisory assignments for banks and thrifts including merger and acquisitions and capital markets transactions. Mr. Anderson has over 20 years of industry experience and first joined KBW in 2000 as a Managing Director covering the mid-Atlantic region. Prior to joining the firm, he was a Managing Director at First Union Securities.

Mr. Anderson holds an MBA from the University of North Carolina and a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce from the University of Virginia.

Joseph S. Berry

Managing Director
Co-Head of Depositories Investment Banking

Mr. Berry was appointed Co-Head of KBW's Depository Investment Banking Group in 2010. In this role, he is responsible for merger advisory work, recapitalizations & restructurings, capital markets transactions and strategic advisory work for banks / thrifts, credit card processing companies and alternative asset management companies. Mr. Berry has been with KBW for over 15 years and focuses on covering companies in the Midwest, Florida and Puerto Rico.

Prior to joining KBW's Investment Banking Department in 1998, Mr. Berry spent two years in KBW's Equity Research Group, where his responsibilities included research coverage of banking institutions in the Southeast. Mr. Berry graduated cum laude from Bucknell University in 1996 with a B.A. in Economics and English.

Mr. Berry is a regional advisory member of the American Ireland Fund. He is also a supporter of the Hole In the Wall Camps organization, which is a global family of camps and programs for critically ill children.

Frederick L. Cannon, CFA

Executive Vice President
Director of U.S. Research

Mr. Cannon joined KBW in 2003. In his dual role as Director of Research and Chief Equity Strategist, Mr. Cannon guides the U.S. research effort at KBW, which provides industry leading research on the financial sector and research coverage on more than 450 financial services firms. He also serves on the firm's Executive Management Committee. Over his years at KBW, Mr. Cannon's coverage has included a diverse universe of financial institutions, ranging from community and regional banks to mortgage finance companies, and has included some of the largest players in the financial services sector.

Mr. Cannon is a graduate of the University of California at Davis and earned his Master's degree from Cornell University. In past years, he served as economist and director of investor relations at Bank of America and Golden State Bank in San Francisco. Mr. Cannon is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

Paul McCaffery

Managing Director
Director of Equity Sales

Mr. McCaffery joined KBW in 2002. In his current role, Mr. McCaffery manages the U.S. Equity Sales group and is responsible for recommending financial sector equity investments for mutual fund and hedge fund portfolio managers. Prior to joining KBW, Mr. McCaffery worked as a financial analyst at Goldman Sachs in the FICC division.

Mr. McCaffery is a graduate of The Wharton School (BS) and College of Arts and Sciences (BA) at The University of Pennsylvania and received his MBA from The Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Vasco Moreno

Executive Vice President
CEO - Keefe, Bruyette & Woods Limited

Mr. Moreno joined KBW in July 2004. He is the Chief Executive Officer and Director of European Research at Keefe, Bruyette & Woods Limited (U.K.). In addition, Mr. Moreno serves on the firm's Executive Management Committee and is based in the firm's London office.

Prior to joining KBW, he worked at Fox-Pitt, Kelton Inc., where he was the Head of European Banks Research responsible for the Pan-European banks strategy and European investment banking strategy. Before that, Mr. Moreno was the Head of Southern European Banking Research at Santander Investment Securities. He started his career as an Equity Research Analyst at Kidder Peabody, before moving to Dillon Read.

He graduated from New York University Stern School of Business with a degree in Finance.

John P. Ragan

Executive Vice President
Head of Equities
Director of Equity Trading

Mr. Ragan joined KBW in 1993, and has spent his entire professional career within the firm's Equity Trading division. Based in KBW's Boston office, he is currently Head of the Equities group, Director of Equity Trading and serves on the firm's Executive Committee.

Mr. Ragan is a graduate of Boston College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and a Masters in Finance from Boston College's Carroll School of Management. He is also a volunteer for charitable organizations including the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

 

Peter J. Wirth

Executive Vice President
Co-Head of Investment Banking

Mr. Wirth joined KBW's Investment Banking Department in 1982. He began his career in the New York office before moving to San Francisco in 1987 to initiate the firm's investment banking business in California. In 1991, Mr. Wirth returned to New York while maintaining California and Western U.S. client coverage. Since then, he has held several management positions within the Investment Banking Department; in 2002 he was named Executive Vice President and Associate Director of Investment Banking; and in 2010 was appointed Global Head of Investment Banking.

He received a Bachelor of Arts degree, with honors, from Stanford University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. Mr. Wirth also sits on the Board of Directors for charitable organizations including the African Rainforest Conservancy and Educate!
